No Comments NGCSU, New Veterans center…
It’s 1:39, I skipped lunch to make it on time to my 1PM appointment with the VA Rep at NGCSU. Apperantly she is in an interview with reporters, who are curious about the newly created “Veterens Center” at the school.
Im going to eat. I tell the receptionist I will return in 30min, and head down to El Jimador, a small/and good, Mexican Restaurant a short walk away. Sat down, and quickly ordered ‘Enchiladas Rancheros’ from the Veggie side of the menu. There was a mixup somewhere, and I recieved a massive plate of shreded chicken flesh thinly wrapped in a tortia…
This is obviously not my day.
The waitress quickly corrected the order, in no time I had a couple tortias in front of me, that had a very modest amount of cheese inside each and were covered with a bit more cheese and a tomoato sause, I was not very happy.
The waitress was amiable, and took the time to engage in a brief conversation with me in Spanish, or at least my best attempt at Spanish.
I grabbed a cup of coffee to go, and headed back to the finacial aid office. Kayla had finished her interview and was finally able to see me. I’ll admit I was still a little perturbed, but able to politely dismiss the grievance. And on to business…
Kayla Cox, the admistrator of veterans affairs at NGCSU knew her stuff! Not only did she know what she was doing, but did most of the work for me. I applied for the Chapter 33 GIBill online in her office. And the rest, was taken care of by her. I was more than pleased, and it was worth the wait! (and crappy food)
