Sunday – Church

Being in the south, it is almost social suicide to reject church. Still the center of society, your church decides who you are and whether or not you will be successful.

For the record book, just so everyone knows where I stand.
I am a Christian, but I put much more emphasis on spirituality, as apposed to conventional doctrine.

I am attending a church, I chose primarily because I disagree on many of the sermons. Why? I can easily find people I agree with, and surround myself with them, but there is no growth there. Our notions of what is right and wrong should always be challenged.

So I go to church, stomach the doctrine, and learn. I learn about myself, how I think, why I believe. I also learn about others; what they believe, not always why, (most people are not sure why they believe: they just do. blind faith is faith, and if that’s all you have its better than nothing… i guess.) Ive stopped asking these people questions, they seem to think they are being challenged and quickly become defensive, sometimes accusing, sometimes they see the devil in me (which I dont necessarily disagree with).
