A post in the NY Times made its way to my attention:

So is it a controversial concept? A sign of the degradation of youth, or, a brighter future?

Like anything, the wrong person, viewpoint, or mentality, can make a good thing bad. Is hugging wrong, no. Can it be? eh, chocolate can be bad if consumed in excess.

Is excess wrong?

Yes.

Hugging in excess is wrong, let the definition of excess be construed by individual circumstances.

Let the kids hug.
